Well, our friend Audrey has gone on the big bird home again. I dropped her off at the airport this morning. We had a good week. We went to the Stuttgarter Weindorf, the Circus Montana, went shopping, to Schloss Heidelberg, Tübingen, a waterfall, Aldi… It was fun. Photos of many things can be found here.

More exciting news – our kitchen is even more finished now! We’re still waiting for the dishwasher to arrived, but… we put up our spice rack and some other stuff. Here. I’ll show you.

We got this at Ikea (gotta love Ikea). We hung our paper towel roll, our towel and our cutting board (thanks Mom and Pop!) from this rod. They slide back and forth and there are some extra hooks. We also have this little shelf that hangs off, but we haven’t decided yet what to put up there. We also hung up our spice rack.

We were given these outrageously wonderful Penzey spices for our wedding (thanks Mom and Pop!). They came in a cool wooden box, but it was hard to use them, because we had to open the box and pull them all out every time we wanted to find something. Now, we can fit most of them – at least the ones we’re likely to use a lot – right here on this spice rack. It looks like it was custom made, but no! The spices just fit perfectly. I love my kitchen! Please note the incredibly healthy basil plant atop the microwave. We just had to repot it, because it got too big for its original house. We still have very little furniture, but people have been asking, so I’ve taken some sort of in-between photos of the apartment. I will take more after we get more furniture, but for the moment, you can see updated photos here. Unfortunately, you have to scroll through the old ones to find the new ones, but they are marked in red letters right now if they are new.
